Creative Process:
Sgraffito is the main technique I use to decorate the surfaces of my pottery. I was originally inspired by a paper cutting. I noticed in the paper cutting, the image came forward when the negative space was taken away. I translated this to the clay surface using slips then carving away the negative space.
