South Park Arts is hiring an Arts & Business District Ambassador. This is a temporary position that begins as soon as possible and ends in late July.

The mission: connect local businesses with South Park Arts to forge mutually beneficial partnerships. The primary focus will be on merchants along the 14th Ave, but we’re open to opportunities with all South Park businesses. Our goal is to discover ways to promote both art and the neighborhood businesses through events and community projects. We have something profoundly special in South Park, and we want art and our local businesses to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect with local businesses in a thorough and methodical fashion.

  • Gauge availability of time and interest.

  • Determine best means of interaction (visit, call, email). Preference is for a face-to-face conversation.

  • Introduce South Park Arts to the business, if not already familiar.

  • Gather information about the business - their speciality, vision, focus.

  • Brainstorm ideas for partnerships, including events, donations, and sponsorships.

  • Capture thorough notes and photos.

  • Report back with findings.

  • Present results in a public celebration.

Requirements

  • Conversational in Spanish

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to report results in oral or written form

  • Adherence to deadlines and agreed expectations

  • Follow-through and attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

  • Live or work in South Park

  • Appreciation of arts, small business, and/or event planning

  • Inquisitive, visionary personality

Compensation available!

How to Apply

Please send a cover letter, resume, and two personal or professional references to hello@southparkarts by 3/15/2019. Because this position is funded by a Neighborhood Matching Fund, the ideal candidate will be hired as soon as possible.

We look forward to hearing from you!
