Come to the wake and watch the muralists!
Thursday, June 24th, 2010
South Park is remembering its dear old bridge on Wednesday, June 30, from 6pm-10pm with a giant party! You can call it a wake, but we’re gonna call it a party. Because here at South Park Arts, we believe our loss is a great opportunity for South Park to be reborn!
Not only does this “wake” have an awesome poster designed by a certain SPArtian webmistress (who is tooting her own horn just by writing this), it’s going to have SIX muralists transforming the bridge from blah to fabu!
Here are the fantastic six artists who will be there on Wednesday night:
Elisa Renouard — she’s an artist and an architecture student at U.W. who has painted some cool stuff!
Sam Sneke — he’s got some amazing murals across Seattle
Kenji Fulmer — he was an artist at last year’s Art Under $100, and he’s painted a garage on Rose street!
Gina Tolentino — she’s a designer, illustrator, and artist!
Chris Kent – he is known round these parts for his great work transforming an alley garage in South Park
Glenn Case — he is responsible for some of the most visible murals in West Seattle
We’ll be posting more about the murals on the mural project page. Come back and visit for photos!
