Archive for December, 2015
This was our 3rd year in an all new place, and it feels like we hit that perfect groove. Thanks to all who came out in the cold and wet to celebrate the warmth of the season, all 2500 of you! The art was fun, stunning, sublime, and the artists were super successful. Thanks to all the volunteers and all the work behind the scenes. And a huge Thank You to our AU100 community for all your generous support. We’ll be looking forward to 2016!
Another Art Under $100 has come and gone but there’s still a chance to buy some awesome artwork, and help support South Park Arts. Fifteen paintings were displayed in the lobby of this years’s AU100 and they are up for auction here
The auction ends Wednesday at 8pm, with the paintings hand delivered by the following weekend, or can be arranged for pick up. This is a Seattle area service only. Sorry, but we don’t have any volunteers available to crate and ship artwork this large.
If you want art delivered outside the Seattle area, please consider purchasing a Bridge Paintings calendar instead. These 12 inch by 12 inch 15-month calendar contains all the Bridge Paintings, one for each month. They’d make a great holiday gift! The $20 price includes USPS delivery to any US address.
Only 5 are up on the auction site now, due to the limitations of that platform. If you wish to purchase more through PayPal, please contact info [at] southparkarts.org. Include the quantities and shipping address in your email.
Our biggest AU100 will start in just a few hours. We’re very excited about how amazing this is shaping up, and hope to see you there.
Here are a few final details and links
We’re in the Atrium this year at Seattle Design Center at 5701 6th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108. It’s the big building south of last year’s spot. You can park in the SDC parking lot off 6th Avenue, or park in the garage north across Orcas Street but only until 8:30pm.
There are still a few tickets left for VIP hour. This is an exclusive shopping hour from 1 – 2pm. You get first choice of artwork, some members-only raffle chances. plus chocolate and champagne while you shop. Ticket link is here - there were only 200 spots available to start with, and much fewer now. These may be on sale at the door. Proceeds will fund future South Park Arts events.
From 2 – 8pm, the event is free and open to everyone. There’s a bar, a DJ, the Makery (art lab for creative souls), popcorn to snack on and 3 food trucks out front for more substantial meals. And of course all the art.
South Park Arts will also have merchandise for sale, including a brand new T-Shirt designed by Angelina Villalobos aka 179, and a 15 month wall calendar of Bridge Paintings. We’re also displaying the Bridge Paintings in the lobby of AU100. They are not for sale at the event, but are being auctioned online here:
And lastly, here is a downloadable & printable map so you don’t miss your favorite artists.
PS: a big thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors who make this event happen each year. We absolutely could not do this without you!
