Mark LaFalce

After my quest for life, I discovered art. I like the way art makes things more, bright, dark, moving, awesome, meek, subtle, chaotic, poignant, silly, and deep. I guess after my quest for art, I discover life.

- Mark LaFalce

Born in the Catskill, Shawangunk and Adirondack region of Upstate New York, Mark LaFalce came to the Pacific Northwest over 15 years ago to discover new territories like his predecessors Lewis, Clark and Kerouac. Through a long and winding career as a musician which took Mark down Alligator Alley, through the Bible Belt, up into the Painted Desert and the great tall pines of Big Sur, he was ready to settle in a town known for its artistic vibrancy. He came to Seattle’s South Park Community in 2005 and now has a studio in the Historic Sparks Building (Mike’s LaCantina). His latest series which will be available at the Art Under $100 event is called Renewable South Park, which involves fantasies of a Trolley Route which would service the South neighborhoods of Seattle and even go over the new South Park Bridge.
