Judy Lane
Five years ago, I met a crow with a crooked feather. I had been training my new Siberian Husky puppy and noticed that this same bird seemed to come and see us whenever we were in the local park. Since her unique feather identified her and she seemed to recognize us, she found her way into our dog/human family snapshots and my imagination. I wrote, illustrated and published a children’s book about her family and our dogs (Keiko & the Crow) as well as developed selected photographic images as art prints and cards – sharing our NW scenes, urban flora and fauna. These images also became the basis for my mixed media collage pieces, incorporating my continued fascination with birds and our own Northwest.
