Joan Johnson
Since 1970 I’ve made a lot of pots using many different influences and firing techniques. I earned both a BFA and MFA majoring in ceramic art. Since coming to Washington, my studios have been in Quilcene, Pottery Northwest in Seattle, and a storefront on Airport Way s in the Georgetown neighborhood. Since the 1980s I’ve taught pottery, and fundamental and figurative drawing in several Seattle area learning centers. Now having a new studio built in my South Park neighborhood I will continue teaching and making new works in clay and on paper here.
