Deborah Stachowic
I majored in art at Antioch College in the 70’s. I fell in love with the fluidity of watercolor and started painting watercolors seriously in 1990. My subject matter focused on botanical images of nature, and after traveling to Italy, France and Ireland, influences from my travels infiltrated into my paintings. Since1998 I have taught classes in my studio in the Georgetown area of Seattle. I am an eclectic artist, I also work in acrylics and in the last 5 years I have been painting mostly in beeswax encaustic. The fluidity and hot working quality of encaustic is totally mesmerizing and I work with images from nature, Asian influenced, and also personal abstract images.
